1. Sustaining and enhancing the livelihood security of farmers and enabling them to improve on the quality of living.
2. Rolling out an integrated model of watershed development on cluster basis for maximizing the impact with multi stakeholder involvements.
3. Facilitating horizontal speared of key intervention outside cluster under “ cluster plus activities.”
4. Fostering vibrant community network of SHGs, farmers clubs etc, both within watershed cluster and outsides as village level springboards for various development programme.
5. Ensuring sustainable linkages focuring on accepts to market information, technologies , credits, marketing etc.
6. Developing villages level institutional organizations learn, implement, marketing and sustain the programme and work in a group of economy of scale in input purchase and marketing of produce.

Background:

The prime minister visit to the distressed district in he Vidarbha region of Maharashtra on 1st July,  2006 and has announcement of several ameliorative measures NABARD has been given the captioned take of integrated watershed development in intervention combined  with livelihood support measures, in the 6 affected district i.e. 1 Akola 2. Amrawati 3. Buldhana 4. Wardha 5.Washim 6. Yavatmal. The watershed development measures are being taken up in 90,000 ha in 6 district as a participatory programme for micro level infrastructure  development with regard to sustainable management of soil and water resources. The project are being implemented on cluster basis in order to ensure efficiency in delivery and optimization of impact.

• In Buldhana district there are 6 watershed cluter and 6 PIA working. Marathwada Sheti Sahayya , mandal Jalna is one of the PIAs among these and working in Palaskhed-Pimpalgaon watershed cluster Block Sinkhed Raja.
